Department of Hindi
The Hindi department takes pride in inaugurating its program course in the year 2000, coinciding with the college’s inception. And in view of the growing demand for Hindi subject, Honours studies in Hindi started in the year 2008. There are five faculty members in the department of Hindi who prepare the students with great hard work and dedication. Along with teaching in the class, other activities related to the subject are also conducted so that self-confidence can be developed among the students. Alongside the efforts of our teachers, it’s the hard work of our students that has led countless students today to attain Ph.D. in the field of higher education. On the other hand, many are also employed in various government and non-government organizations.
Since the establishment in the beginning of 21st Century, Department of Hindi has come a long way in having its own infrastructure, in the new building at 2nd Floor, immediately after getting upstairs along with the development of Nani Bhattacharya Smarak Mahavidyalaya in last two and a half decade. Today department of Hindi has its own high-quality computers besides laptop which was issued in our inventory almost a decade before. We have a departmental library having nearly 100 books in Hindi. We need some more additional books covering prescribed syllabus and some reference books along with subscription of journals and periodicals.
Jaigaon is the first inhabited place near Bhutan Border as such it has mixed population and business activities surrounded by sprawling green tea gardens where mostly tribal people in rural setting and some are still living below poverty line has Hindi as a vernacular and mother tongue of most of the people. In the Kalchini block at Malangi, Dalsingpara and also at Lothabari, Chuapara, Garopara there are Higher Secondary and Senior Secondary Schools where all these youngsters of the region getting education in Hindi for whom Department of Hindi at NBSM is the ultimate destination for graduation with Hindi subject in Programme, Honours, Minor and Major. Hindi is the language which makes one able to interact anywhere in the country especially in Northern, Western and central India where people of this region go for employment.
